Assignment Question

For help narrowing down your research, use the library tutorials or request a library consultation during business hours and at least 24 hours in advance. Study those two articles and use them to prepare a 3-5 page paper on your topic.

1) Introduction: Include an introductory paragraph. Include a description of the health behavior you are trying to change and any related health issue that is related to that behavior. Describe why you decided to try and make this change.

2) Research Summary: Include at least one paragraph for each resource you studied (At least two paragraphs must be included for full credit. ) Each paragraph includes a summary of the source you studied and includes one thing you learned from this research that you didn’t already know or some new perspective that you gained.

3) Conclusion: One paragraph will be a conclusion about what you learned. This is not a summary of the research. It is intended to be your own original thoughts about the topic based on what you learned. The conclusion should demonstrate your analysis and original thoughts about this topic and integrate the information you may already be aware of. You might include how you might change your steps to achieving your goal, a reflection on the health issue, or some insight you can use for future behavior change or help another who is making a change. You are expected to cite your sources using Standard APA citation format: This means you will include a Title paper and reference list (also known as Bibliography or Works cited page)

4) APA Format requires a title page and a “works cited” page ( aka references, bibliography) in addition to your 3-5 page paper. This paper needs to be double-spaced and in either Arial or Times 12 pt font. You are expected to cite your sources using a standard APA format. Per APA, research summaries must cite sources in-text, whether paraphrased or directly quoted in the body of the paper. Good writing standards suggest that students should not use direct quotations of more than a short phrase, as this section is intended for you to analyze your sources, not just find the sources. (See Writing Center for help with APA formatting) You will be graded on how well you summarized – in your own words- what you learned from each resource and the thoughts and conclusions you have drawn as a result. Review the rubric for clarification about where the points will come from.
