This is a paper based on Roland Barthes\’ \”Camera Lucida\”. There are two options, please pick ONE of them.
1. Write about Barthes’ discussion of photographs as symbols.
OR
2. Write about Barthes’ terms studium and punctum and how he uses them to define the characteristics of photographs.
The response may agree or disagree with Barthes’ arguments. Either way, you must demonstrate strong knowledge of Barthes’ arguments and you must create a strong thesis that either furthers or contradicts Barthes’ views.
You may choose to add photographs if you wish.
