Some societies have made drugs legal in response to their society\’s belief that each individual has the right to decide for themselves whether or not to use it. In the United States, for well over a century, use of most drugs has been deemed delinquent. In recent years, however, we have seen individual states pass legislature decriminalizing certain substances.
