Developing a Code of Ethics

Using information and knowledge gained throughout the quarter as your guide, create your own personal code of ethics. Draw from the books, class discussion, personal experience, or knowledge you have from on-the-job experience, make a code of ethics (personal or for a business) by which you can honestly carry out your professional obligations.

Although your actual code of ethics may only take up a page or so, use the remainder of your paper (5-page minimum) to discuss WHY you made your code the way you did, and HOW you will use it in your profession role.

Chapter 7 of Klickers Ethics in Funeral Service, titled Developing a Code of Ethics, will help you in your process of laying out a solid ethical code. Chapter 8 of the same book has several examples.
