Conflict in SyriaIn the summer of 2013, analyst Shamus Cooke asked if the growing conflict between the United States and Syria was becoming “Obama’s Iraq.” His observation that there were many similarities with the Bush administration’s run-up to Iraq in 2003 looked compelling. A full military invasion was avoided, but the conflict continues to simmer, and Clinton’s rhetoric on the issue is very aggressive. Using the 9 theories we have discussed thus far, which appears to be the most useful in explaining this current international conflict, and importantly, whether you believe that “humanitarian intervention” or “R2P” is even a legitimate international concept?I would suggest using realism or class system theory or the combination of the both would be fine as well. There is not limit on sources but I will attach the list of sources that are suggested. Also the 13 pages includes a title page, bibliography and abstract.
