Discuss with several different people (or read several different views on) some government program or policy that involves fairness or justice and on which there is a great deal of disagreement, such as: Health Care Reform, Unemployment programs, Social Welfare programs, efforts to save the Environment, Immigration Reform, Funding for Public Schools, or proposals to increase/decrease taxes.
Try to get them to explain to you exactly what each means when they say that these programs or policies are “fair” or “just” (or “unfair” or “unjust”). Relate their views to the three views on justice discussed in your text. pp 349-372 in Philosophy: An Introduction Through Literature: This includes two short stories: “An Experiment in Misery” & “The House of Morgan”
