I have chosen to study programs for Master of International commerce, which are specially majoring in supply chain management (SCM) due to the following reasons.
After my bachelor in BA specializing in International trade, I was accepted to work in the Procurement Department for the Mongolian top mining company. During the last 3.5 years, until the current position as senior functional engineer for the ERP system which is a core business integrated system with complex modules in the company, I have been working on multiple positions progressively. Then I wish to meet the global business cases and best solutions and understand business diverse theories from wide and new perspectives from Australian education system. Especially, I really interested in programs for Master of SCM in Melbourne business school and Master of Commerce specialized in SCM in The University of Sydney. My long time plan is to become Vice President of Procurement in a large Mongolian mining company that competes in the world market.
In order to advance from my current position as senior functional engineer for procurement department to senior management position, I need to grow in academic knowledge on supply chain management, international trade and commerce getting hands on experience, international perspective and strategies. Moreover, senior management position of procurement requires strong knowledge on interactions between other departments such as finance, sales, maintenance and production and must know how to use them into account in decision-making.
Moreover, I want to have many good colleagues who work in same field, have rich experience and who are searching best knowledge. I will be very happy for consulting with those people together and involving in global network of leaders of the procurement and supply chain. It supports me to improve my authority in the future. On the other hand, this opportunity will give my decisions are worth and appropriate for the business in terms of long time period.

3. How have you contributed to solving a challenge and to implementing change or reform? (Be specific and include: what aspect/s of your leadership knowledge, skills and practice you consider to be well established and effective; which people or organizations you worked with to solve the problem; and what creative methods were used.)*: up to 2000 characters

In 2012, after the management decision to start the Project named “ERP System Implementation” to manage business integrally, the project team got duty to introduce and interpret new changes. I was responsible for the purchasing related sections and I need to overcome end user resistances and complains towards new system due to the work changes such as changes on job, duty, daily routine works and professional requirements.
First, instead of big group meetings as other members doing, I organized small meetings for every single group within a subsidiary company for a month and it tends to comprehend real business cases in practical. During those meetings, I adapted their situations and understood why they were complaining. Also I tried to find possible advantages and good effects for every single job after the implementation.
Secondly, I organized again several trainings as grouped employees by responsibilities cross the subsidiary companies. During these meetings, they are sharing their experiences, difficulties and issues with each other and I found that they were coming together eventually even they don’t work in one subsidiary company. I was explaining interactions between departments, about main questions such as why is your job is important, what are the consequences, what is the benefit in terms of individual and inspiring them to move forward to better future. Because they need to understand that ERP system is giving them chance to work more professional consisting with global practice.
When the system went-live, between all business units, the most successful and best end-users are employees who I accounted. They were doing their jobs greatly, very well-prepared and full-hearted. I think that was my biggest contribution for our company. In conclusion, well-organized qualitative discussions and my good characters such as communicative, cooperative and hard-working helped me to achieve this success. Now I visit the mine site by assignment, still they call me “big teacher” and always welcoming me nicely and closely even we passed 2 years.
4. Please:- give up to three practical examples of how you intend to use the knowledge, skills and connections you will gain from your scholarship. Possible tasks can be personal and/or professional; and list any possible constraints you think may prevent you from achieving these tasks.*:

About 2 years ago, as a functional specialist, I have begun some research works on procurement and inventory planning which includes planning methods, parameters, problems and etc. I found that currently company’s planning for procurement is going at inadequate level and this plan should have more importance on the whole operation for management. Thus I intend to use my gained knowledge to my planning research works by experiencing that appropriate planning methods, connections to the finance, procurement capability, data possibilities and benefits to the company cost applying international experiences, perspectives and chain of communication with global network of experts.
Moreover, I have been worked for procurement analyst for about 2 years and now I am responsible for business intelligence system of procurement module. After my graduation, I intend to use my knowledge and skills to improve our analytics quality. Business analytics and business intelligence are quite important for all level of decision making process and I understood that good analysis can be worth, effective and give opportunity to have sharp eye to see whole business process from all sides.
Thus after my graduation in Australia, I will be able to consummate my researches on procurement/inventory planning and business analytics and get supports from the management to implement those works into the business. Furthermore, my English language proficiency is highly developed when I return and I will use this skill to communicate with global consultants, advisers and colleagues on behalf of company and it can give me chance to be more professional.
Indeed, there will be several constrains to these tasks in the future. As far as I am predicting, the biggest constrains will be the “change management” process, lack of professions of employees, quality of statistical data, calculation methods and users’ attitude. But I am sure I can conquer all of them involving my gained master’s education from Australia
