Pick one of the following clients and develop a training program to meet their individual needs. Include all the steps involved before developing the program (health evaluation, goals, physician clearance, etc.) The training program will only include the beginning steps. What would you have your client doing for cardio? Would they be involved in a weight lifting program? If so, what exercise would you recommend, Etc. Design a program that will allow for your client to reach their goals!

A 19-year old male basketball player who is training for the basketball season that begins in 3 months. No restrictions on the number of days he can work out. You may change this to any sport. The client would like to improve his endurance and build muscle in his upper body.
A 40-year old women who is sedentary and 30 lbs over weight. They would like to lose weight and tone up. Can workout 4 days per week.
A 25-year old male or woman who wants to gain weight and build muscle in order to compete in a physique show in 6 months. Has been lifting weights for five years. They want to have a six pack for the show!
A 30-year old woman who has had ACL surgery and has finished physical therapy wants to begin working out again. She wants to tone her upper body and keep strengthening her knee.
A 50-year old woman with osteoporosis. She has a doctor’s note recommending a weight bearing conditioning program. She would also like to loose 5 lbs. She has never been comfortable going to a fitness center.
A 28 year old woman who is 8 weeks post-partum and wants to lose the 30lbs she has gained during pregnancy. She also wants to tone up all over. She can work out 3 days a week.
A 60 year old man has just retired from a white collar job. He would like to get into weight training and lose the gut that he has developed sitting at his desk all of those years. He also has lower back issues. He would like to work out 5 days a week and take the weekends off. He has never been to a fitness facility before.
A mother and father want you to work with their 12 year old son who has been diagnosed with onset type 2 diabetes. He is 25 pounds over weight for his height and has low self-esteem. He doesn’t play any sports. He will be meeting with you three days a week.
