Thesis Proposal: This program requires field research and a dissertation. Please outline (500 word maximum) a proposed research topic including at least five peer-reviewed sources that inform your choice, as well as a suggested framework for your field research. A clear analytical argument supporting your working hypothesis is required. Paper Topic: In understanding the cross-cultural differences between the Western and Arab World, Hofstede’s cultural dimensions will be used as teh research model to test across these two cultures (Western vs. Non-Western) with a focus on the Arab World. Also, the Franco-Arab relations take root in centuries of shared history, turmoil and cultural exchange and are going to be used as a prime example where Arab identity meets Western World, using Hofstede’s cultural dimension to explain the changes of perception, interaction and relations.
