You have been employed by a boxing club to work with one of their professional boxers. The boxer that you have been asked to work with is very clearly a talented individual. You have already conducted a needs analysis and your case notes are below. The club owner has requested a report that describes and critically evaluates your proposed course of action from this point. The club’s owner has a background in sport psychology through his degree in sport science 2 years ago, you can therefore use sport psychology jargon.
You should focus on the following:
1. Giving a clear evaluation of your philosophy as a sports psychologist
2. Critically evaluating the nature and purpose of the interventions/sessions you intend to conduct
3. Giving an account of how your ethical code of conduct will impact on the investigation

Name: Branco Juremovic
Age: 24
Sport Boxing
Branco took up boxing when he moved to this country with his Father from his native Serbia 9 years ago. Branco was immediately very good at boxing and the sport enabled him to make friends quickly and stopped him from getting bullied at school.
Branco turned professional last year after having a very strong amateur career that included representing Great Britain at the last Commonwealth Games where he narrowly missed out on a medal after a split decision that is widely regarded as the wrong decision within boxing circles.
Since the Commonwealth Games Branco has received a lot of attention in the media. He has won all 3 of his first professional fights by knock out with the last fight being on the undercard of a local fighters first world title defence. Branco has received some negative media attention and has been very outspoken about his allegiance to his homeland of Serbia despite fighting for Great Britain and being supported to fight through UK lottery funding for a period of time. In his last fight the crowd were overtly cheering for his opponent despite Branco being the local fighter.
Last year Branco was investigated by the police for an alleged attack on a fan after his first professional fight. While Branco was cleared of any wrong doing he was the subject of a lot of negative media attention.
Branco is struggling to concentrate while in training and fights. Branco is losing motivation to come to training and is progressively beginning to look at boxing as a way to earn money (this is different from how he viewed boxing before turning professional when he viewed boxing as something that he loved to do).
Branco appears low in mood and reports thoughts of perhaps giving up boxing or at least taking an extended break in the near future.
