How can you demonstrate understanding of an issue(s) and/or a theme(s) from our close reading of The Road by Cormac McCarthy through a fictional creative writing piece?

​Different from the previous research­based papers from the other books, this will
be a creative writing piece. It will be work of “art” that showcases themes, issues, events, or
complicated points of the The Road you want to elaborate on or change. It will still contain
elements of a story (refer to plot diagram examples provided). You will rewrite the ending, or
pick one particular section you want to change (and therefore how it would affect the entire
story), or add/delete things. You can either write a formal paper explaining why you made
these choices, or write it in story form.
