Annotated Bibliography and Evaluative Summary

This is an individual assessment and students should not collude with each other.

Please answer the following topic:

In order to find the existing research/evidence base to support/underpin a research or quality improvement activity that answers your research/clinical audit question, you are asked to select, read, analyse, and annotate the most relevant 9 research articles with at least ONE of EACH of the following in the articles selected –

quantitative research

qualitative research

mixed methods research

research using a theoretical/conceptual framework

Please Note: You are not permitted to use articles that are literature reviews, scholarly articles, editorials, letters, opinion pieces, or systematic or meta-analysis reviews.

After you have completed the Annotated Bibliography, you are then asked to reflect upon the literature and complete a well-synthesised Evaluative Summary of the literature you have annotated.

Weighting: 50%

Word Limit: 3,700 words in total (+/- 10%). 2,700 words = Annotated

Bibliography; 1,000 words = Evaluative Summary.

No. of Literature Items: 9 research articles with at least one of each of the following in the selected articles – quantitative research, qualitative research, mixed methods research, research using a theoretical/conceptual framework.

Purpose: To develop skills in the use of information and communication technology effectively to conduct literature searches; and to demonstrate critical reading, analysis and synthesis of relevant literature.
