Discuss the societal consequences of drug use and abuse. In your paper, you should focus on how drug abuse relates to: crime and violence, family, work, and health-related issues. All four topics, crime, family, work, health, must be included in the paper to be eligible for full credit.
Your papers must:
•Identify, define and apply at least two Sociological concepts from the text book chapter
•List at least 2 “authoritative” references, one of which can be your primary text book
•Demonstrate “college-level” writing techniques
•Be at least two pages in length with 1″ margins and standard 12-point font
Notes: By this point in the course, as you consult your feedback from previous papers, you should be feeling comfortable with the standard approach we are taking with these writing assignments. Please recognize that there is no need to separate the description of the social problem from the application of SOCI concepts and theories. You should be ready to integrate (or synthesize) the discussion of the social problem and the use of SOCI concepts, as you conduct a Sociological analysis of the social problem. We want to start thinking more about viable solutions to these social problems as well – can we follow the logic we have applied in the analysis to inform our choice of solutions?
