The second paragraph will be a brief map of the plot structure. It must include at least the inciting incident, mid-point, and climax. You can also include the opening and code/twist if it is necessary.
The third paragraph will present your support for the theme line. It should argue for why the events in the second paragraph are important to the theme.
The fourth, and final, paragraph will argue for the truth value of the theme. It should provide support for why the theme is either true or not. Avoid being ambivalent take a side, though you can argue why one side or the other may be problematic.
You may cite any of our readings or outside sources, but outside sources are not necessary.
