As a part of your duties as an operations or supply chain manager, you will have to work with quantitative analysts. You
will be responsible for developing models for the managerial processes that you supervise. For this assignment, you will
create your own problem, identify variables, and propose a model for everyday operations that would alleviate or
eliminate the problem.
Your task is to define the problem and its variables. You do not have to quantify these variables or create an Excel Solver
model. If you cannot find a problem within your company or job, you can select an example from a company that you are
familiar with, such as a fast food restaurant, post office, bakery, logistics company, etc. The problems in your book,
assignments, and learning documents (tutorials) should provide ample insight for determining the problem that you
would analyze. If you cannot decide on a specific problem, please contact your professor for additional help.

overviews of this course. Some examples for such a business problem are as follows:
