Logistics Operation Supervisor

Under the supervision of the Chief Joints Logistics Operation Centre(Chief JLOC) or Chief Logistics Officer(CLO), the Logistics Officer is responsible for the following duties:

Describe How you :

 

1.       Prepare logistics and support plans, deployment timelines and budget   requirements for planned or new operations for SSR, Security Sector Reform          Office; UNPOL. United Nations Police; HA. Humanitarian Affairs; HR. Human   Rights, Gender office,

 

2.       Develop logistics contingency plans to deal with emergent situations that may result from natural or man-made crisis situations;

 

3.       Develop and implement methodologies and tools to enable effective execution of      logistic plans;

 

4. IMPORTANT :       Manage and Coordinate logistics operations, including, material, property, Finance and budget, Procurement, personnel,  humanitarian affairs and        other substantive units such as Political division, SRGS Office and Human    Rights division, SSR,

 

5.       Develop and implement logistics support policy, formulate SOPs to the common       benefit of all UN mission units;

 

6.       Prepare logistics reports based on accurate and up-to-date information and     data received from all relevant counterparts and distribute them according to    requirements;

 

7.       Participate in visits to geographical areas of interest; prepare technical reports and     briefings;

 

8.       Develop plans and coordinate execution of the Mission downsizing or liquidation and   provide assistance to the Liquidation Coordinator in matters related to mission       liquidation;

 

9.       Identify, plan and manage special logistics operations;

 

10.     Maintain an overall understanding of logistics capability available in the mission          area, including those of other UN Agencies/organisations and NGOs;

 

11.     Guide and supervise the work of new/junior logistics officers or staff;

 

12.     Ensure that supervised staff members are adequately trained and cross-        trained;

 

13.     Identify additional training needs to achieve high working standards (USE the   example of IPSAS “International Public Sector Accounting Standards”;
