MANIFESTO
a written statement that describes the policies, goals, and opinions of a person or group
The purpose of this project is to guide the student in forming an understanding of the theoretical and historical influences of their own creative work. In the same spirit as the artists and designers of the 20th century I am asking each student to compose a personal manifesto in relation to their own creative process. I would also like for you to include with your manifesto, research into those artists and artistic movements or events which helped to shape your own understanding of how and why you create. This writing assignment addresses the following course objectives:
identify and analyze major design styles and consecutive developments
form an independent and informed opinion across a wide range of issues
articulate opinion in written form
compile a personal review of creative ideas

You should use endnotes rather than footnotes. See below for more detailed information and refer to the Style Sheet provided on Blackboard

Use 12-point Times New Roman type for all elements. Number all pages in lower right corner. Leave a margin of 1Â½ inches all around. Do not break words (hyphenate) at ends of lines. Do not justify the right-hand margin. Use italic type for words to be set in italics. Do not use boldface, centering, or other sizes or styles of font.
