Read the attached article ‘Glas Cymru launches bond campaign’, from the Financial Times, 9 April 2001.
- In no more than 150 words, summarise this article (in your own words). (10% of total marks)
- Evaluate the company’s (Glas Cymru) actions and objectives, in relation to capital structure theory. (90% of total marks)
You should adopt a critical rather than descriptive approach to the evaluation and discussion of theory should be related to issues specific to the company. You should consult a variety of sources including, but not confined to, the required reading listed below.

The total word limit is 1000 words including the summary of the article and excluding the bibliography.

Please note that extensions to this deadline will only be given in exceptional cases (illness, bereavement) and requests for extensions must be accompanied by documentary evidence.
Late submissions posted on StudyNet within 24 hours of the submission time will receive a 5% penalty, those received after this time but within 7 days of the submission date and time will be capped at 40%. Submissions received more than one week later than the deadline date/time will be awarded a mark of 0%

- Use of appropriate alternative sources of information (if relevant) – please avoid the use of descriptive websites.
- Integration of literature within work – please avoid direct quotes
- Presentation and referencing (10%)
- Essay style format
- Sentence construction, grammar and use of paragraphs
- Sourcing and referencing of information in Harvard format
