What are the causes and effects of African-American “at-risk” youth in Metropolitan/Urban cities?

Details:
In the previous assignment, you mined the literature reviews of three dissertations to guide your own search for information on your intended dissertation topic. You identified themes (the common ideas being discussed across the literature on a given topic), noted the authors and topics found in the dissertations you mined, and created outlines of the literature reviews of those dissertations. In this assignment, you will outline your own dissertation literature review (Chapter 2).

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

Instructors will be using a grading rubrics to grade the assignments. It is recommended that learners review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment in order to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
Directions:

Review the outlines of dissertation literature reviews you created in the previous assignment, and remind yourself of the themes you identified.

Identify the major themes from those dissertation literature reviews that you believe most significantly influence your dissertation topic. Use them as headings (Roman numerals) to begin an outline of the literature review of your own dissertation topic.

Expand your literature review outline by adding additional relevant themes as headings (Roman numerals) and supporting ideas as subheadings (capital letters). Follow standard APA outlining format to add additional levels of detail.

Write a brief (125-250 words) statement (to be submitted along with the outline) explaining your rationale for selecting the themes you included in your literature review outline.

1.
MAIN POINTS ABOUT DISSERTATIONS
Literature review by (Williams 2011) in his dissertation is not given in chronological manners rather than it shows literature review in thematic way. Themes such as factors impacting the behavior, violent behaviors, drugs and alcohol usage have been importantly reviewed (Dubendris 2014). Authors have chosen thematic way to include the similar recent research on subtopics of the research area. It makes clear subtopics of research with organized arguments, which are grouped together. Williams (2011) in his research dissertation applied the thematic research approach to conduct the literature. Themes have been classified in the perspective of protective environment risk factors as well as personal factors. Risk level among African American youth has been reviewed (Carey 2012).
2.
COMMON IDEAS AMONG THREE DISSERTATIONS
Environmental and protective operators along with personal factors have been discussed. Core violence acts as indirect exposure and experienced events such as robbery and assault are mainly narrated from recent research publications. Risk produced by environmental, personal and community factors are the common ideas, which are directly or indirectly related to risk causing factors among urban, youth and poor African American population.
3.
THEMES RELATE TO DISSERTATION TOPIC
Protective, environmental and personal factors among the African-American adults have been identified in dissertations, which show a close relevancy to current dissertation topic. Resilience promotion has been focused. Community violence has been mainly topic that has been reviewed. Community violence negatively impacts the social and emotional dysregulation among the African American youth. Risk factors such as excessive use of marijuana followed by suicide contemplating have been investigated among African American Youth.
