Que 1:
My Kinsman, Major Molineux VS Young Goodman Brown
My Kinsman, Major Molineux and Young Goodman Brown both are short stories written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, which there are a lot of similarities and differences that can be find through the main characters journeys. Brown a young man from Young Goodman Brown story and Robin also a young man from My Kinsman, Major Molineux story. Both of their journeys there were involved of dark sides. For example, Robin met a huge man that he sees him with two toned black and red face, and these are a symbols of a devil. In similar, Browns journey involved devil as well when he sees the old man who tried to lead him to the devil ceremony in the woods, and it seems like this old man is the devil. In addition, both of these journeys were in one night, which explain the darkness that was mention before.
Furthermore, Robin and Brown seem to be innocent and silly at the same time, who are looking at certain people as their model that they are looking to be like them. Robin is looking at his Kinsman who Robin thinks that he is a great respected man in his community.
Through their journeys Robin and Brown had very close experience of being disappointed of what they saw. Robin changed his mind about his Kinsman when he find out that Kinsman is supporting the British and people hate him for that, and Robin hate him now as well. Also, Brown find out that his village people are in the ceremony of the devil and his waif as well, thus he avoid them and he thinks that they are evil because the interacted with the devil.
However, even they have similar journeys somehow; the results of each of their experiences are very different. Robin used to be a silly country boy, but after he chatted with people in the city and known what the city look like. He has coming of age and strong grown man who realized that he can live his life without his Kinsmans help. On the other hand, Brown results of his journey were negative and unhappy. He returns to his village with sadness and depression, and he lives his entire live with hated his wife and the people of his town.

Question C: How does The Dead help us to understand death in the other stories?
The dead can help us to understand other stories such as The Magic Barrel. Sometimes dead not necessary means or related to bodies or even souls. In fact, death can be about feelings, emotions, fear, and ambitions. As it was seen in The Magic Barrel the main character is called Leo Finkel and Leo means courage. Unfortunately, Finkel is really far away from the meaning of his name. It seems that he has a dead life, no friends no wife, no family and no communications except with his matchmaker Salzman. Isnt that similar to death? What the difference between him and the dead body? Actually nothing! Honestly, living his life could be so hard to do. In addition, The Dead can also help us to understand other stories such as The Grave where there are a lot of grave tales. The two main characters of the story are Miranda and her brother Paul. Miranda and Paul are two kids who have no fear at all. In fact, fear is dead inside them or maybe never been born! Miranda was watching her brother killing and skinning the female pregnant rabbit with a lot of fun and amaze. As a kid, isnt supposed they have some emotions toward this pregnant rabbit? On the other hand, Paul was skinning the body as nothing is happening. Actually, enjoying hunting and killing at that ages can tell that their emotions and fear is really dead inside them

Question D:
Look at fools in at least 5 different stories

Sometimes trying to understand people and how they think can be so hard and a not easy mission. Actually, its not because they are smart or brilliant, but because they are suffering from an illness called foolishness. Fools are trying to be smart, but the problem is they dont know by acting like smart, they actually appear foolish. A great maxim is it is smartness when you act like a fool sometimes in some situations. So, fools are doing the totally opposite. This essay will discuss the foolishness in five different stories.
Starting with The Magic Barrel story, it seems that Finkel and the matchmaker Salzman have some foolishness in their life. Finkel he doesnt know what he should do in his life. He is not sure if he really wants to get married or not. Actually, Finkel ask the matchmaker to help him find a nice woman to marry her. However, he always judges the women by her age or her job. Honestly, judging a person before the meeting and before seeing him/her is unreasonable. On the other hand, Salzman seems to have some weird opinions, he judges women by how much money they have or what kinds of cars they ride.
Other stories that seem to have fools in it are A&P and Young Goodman Brown. In the A&P story, Sammy is a nineteen year old guy who works in a grocery store. Actually, when he saw the girl who was wearing a bathing suit inside the store, he started to do strange habits. He gave her a name which is a Queenie. Isnt that so weird when he gave her a name and started to imagine crazy things in his mind? In addition, he also quit his work after seeing this girl. The girl didnt even know about him and what his is doing. He is living the whole situation in his mind instead of taking an action. On the other hand, Goodman Brown in the Young Goodman Brown story also was acting foolish with people and especially with his wife. Isnt that crazy when you suddenly changed and see everybody around as a devil or an untreatable? In fact, being alone and not trusting anyone in your life and see them as bad people that could lead you to craziness.
Foolishness also can be found in the Petrified Man story. The story takes a place when Leota was serving a customer called Fletcher in a beauty shop. Knowingly, it will be very obvious what these people are talking about. Unsurprisingly, these two women like to talk about other women and gossip. When that habit becomes over, its really insane and foolish. In fact, they should spend their time talking in something good rather than gossip. Also, Fools is an obvious thing in the Rip Van Winkle Story. Rip van winkle is a really nice and neighborly guy. He is obedient to his bossy wife. As a matter of fact, being too nice to people can be seen as foolishness. Rip Van Winkle is peaceful to the extent that he is afraid of his wife a lot. Should men be afraid from their wives? Isnt that really folly? Actually the right thing is nobody should be afraid from the other person.
