After reading the New Yorker article The Really Big One by Kathryn Schulz, answer the following questions in your own words.

1.In three sentences, describe the plate tectonic setting in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. What type of plate boundary is this, and what are the names of the plates involved? What different types of geologic processes occur in this setting, and where are they happening here?

2.What exactly is The Really Big One that Schulz describes? What do scientists expect to happen, and where? What will cause the most damage, and why?

3.Kathryn Schulz gets much of the geology exactly correct in this article. Using what you now know about geology, explain at least one thing that she gets wrong, or something that you found misleading. How would you correct this issue?
