Length: No less than 100 and no more than 250 words (Not including headings) Title: Something other than Mini-Essay 1 Content: For the first Mini Essay, choose one of the two musical selections listed below, review the accompanying information concerning your selected piece and its style period in your textbook as well as the information from your textbook and the class discussion concerning genre and style. Then, discuss the genre and style of your piece in a short paragraph. Briefly describe two features of your selected piece that help determine its genre, followed by two style features of your selected piece that mark it as belonging to its designated style period. Who would have been the performers and audience for your selected piece, what would have been the circumstances of performance and experience, and what about the experience would have encouraged repetition of the experience (i.e., what would the audience and performers have liked about the experience enough to wish to repeat it)?
