Country for this project: The Netherlands Company: Booking.com Premise for presentation: Booking.com has built a very large campus in Amsterdam, the home of it’s headquarters. A campus that big has to have impact on the location it’s in. While they bring the country a lot of money, “Booking.com’s headquarters in Amsterdam accounts for 57% of the estimated societal value creation.” Yes it brings a lot of money & jobs but Netherlands is small so how does it impact the people who are from there? With so many expats utilizing housing and transportation, because most people use public transport, etc. So my question is “what is the downside or disruption this causes for the Netherlands?” and I would like the presentation to propose a change to address or eliminate the discovered downsides. Booking.com has a hybrid model for work, so for best jobs at HQ you have to move to Amsterdam. Especially engineers, product owners etc. Perhaps the plan/change is to make the option of fully remote for employees in other countries to continue to bring money into the Netherlands but stop bringing so many expats in that has negative impacts on housing & transportation, etc.
