(The Early Earth essay) in 1953 Stanley Miller and colleagues performed an experiment that replicated the conditions of the “Early Earth”, and was able to produce amino and nucleic acids. The basic premise of this experiment was that the atmosphere of the Early Earth was composed of ammonia, methane, and other gases such as carbon dioxide. Recent experiments have shown that the Miller atmosphere may not have been the correct combination of gases, and that life may have originated some place other than the surface of the ocean. Discuss the evidence that point towards the where and how life may have originated in water. ( 300 words)
