What were some interesting details you learned from reading the dissection instructions?

For this virtual hardware dissection activity, you will be taking apart two devices.

The Subject:
Navigate to https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown (or another comparable website). On this page, find two devices that you would like to “virtually” dissect. For example, I own a Dell XPS 13Links to an external site.. You should select one laptop or desktop and one other type of device (ex. Gaming system, phone, smartwatch, etc.).

The Background Info:
Once you find teardown details for each, review the instructions. They are both informative and interesting.

The Dissection and Labeling:
Grab images (take screenshots) of the parts and label the following:

Network Adapter/Internet connection
RAM
Power Supply
Input Device(s)
Output Device(s)
Hard Drive
CPU
Motherboard
Note: Some devices such as cell phones or gaming consoles may not have all these parts, or they may be integrated into other parts. If they appear to be missing, go beyond iFixIt’s page and independently research where the part is.

Comparison:
Reflect on how the devices and how they compare. Did the inside of the device look like you expected? Was it equally difficult to find all of the parts on both devices? What else struck you by completing this activity? What were some interesting details you learned from reading the dissection instructions? To Submit:

Create a Microsoft Word document with your reflection and the images with annotations of your devices.
The images should be highlighted where the indicated hardware is.
Include a description of the assignment.
Do not include your name.
