RESEARCH TOPIC: Research on a wireless technology (GPS)
Aim:
The impact of this wireless technology you choose on the education and/or business environment (or any other social impact) is also to be discussed. For details of marking see the marking schedule.
Deliverables:
The report must be professionally prepared with one and a half spacing, font size 11 or 12.
The report must therefore include a list of references (including web sites if appropriate), preferably you need to have at least 10 journal/conference papers, 3 books, and some websites. To get a good grade, write a high level details of the technology, assignment (not only the basics), use the latest journal/conference papers(must be 5years old or less) and give less priority to websites.
Please provide the following with your report:
- Title page, one page abstract, table of contents, introduction (background and history of wireless from early years), analysis of the growth in wireless technologies (reasons, trend, etc), technical details of the chosen wireless technology (including network diagrams, bandwidth, product details, link details, size, latest research findings, etc.), summary of latest developments, security, discussions (analysis, why?, how?, future?, various options, advantages, dis-advantages, opportunities, comparison with other technologies, comparison of work of researchers on the topic, etc.), business and/or education and/or social impact, conclusions, references and appendices. Review/summary of some papers and comparison of work of latest researchers is most important. Note you need to focus on one wireless technology you choose for your topic and therefore you do not need to cover other wireless technologies. However, for history and analysis of growth, discuss wireless in general (items 1 and 2 of marking schedule)
Marking Schedule.
The wireless assignment must address the following issues:
1.Introduction and history on how wireless started in general 10 %
2. Analysis of the growth in wireless technologies in general (reasons, trend) 10%
3. Details of latest development in the wireless technology you choose which is (GPS)
(including comparison of workers of other researchers). In this section you need to review summary of findings of at least 8 papers (Conference/Journal paper) In this part put summarise each paper in one page that’s mean 8 peapers=8 pages only for part3. Note you need at least 10 papers in references as explained above (some could be used in explaining of other parts). 40%
4. Impact of the special wireless technology you used(GPS) 10%
5. Discussions (GPS) 10%
6. References and sources of information. 10%
7. Quality of document 10%
