The topic of the interview should be something that you know little or nothing about that happened in the life of the interviewee. Perhaps there is a family secret you wish to gather information about—or an event that the person participated in that you do not know much about. It should be an opportunity for you to learn something. Do not attempt to conduct the interview on a topic that you already know. It will be boring for you and for your interviewee.
