Hypnosis has been portrayed as a popular means to get individuals to do silly things. Although you may not have experienced it yourself, you may have heard that some individuals may get up on stage and become hypnotized only do engage in wild behaviors, such as clucking like a chicken or jumping around at the order of someone else. It has also been shown that when they wake from this state, they may not remember what occurred.
In your opinion, what do you think about this representation of hypnotization? Do you believe there is some truth in it? Why or why not? What would be a more accurate representation or display of hypnotization? Have you ever experienced it, or seen someone go through the experience? What were your thoughts? Make sure to cite any information if appropriate.
