Hepatitis F

Hepatitis F

The title of the article is uninformative considering it has only two characters. A title with two characters is uninformative, especially when it is about a disease. The topic discussed under this title could be broad, disqualifying it as informative. An informative title would require having more words that trigger some information or create idea of what the article will address. It will also serve to give some informative idea that will make the reader want to read more. The title of the topic means a virus known to cause hepatitis disease. It suggests the article will be about a disease. Additionally, it suggests all possible topics under this title since it is general. For instance, it could address causes, symptoms, treatment, or even effects. Thus, the title is uninformative. After reading the story, the meaning of the title seemed to change from a virus that causes a disease, to a disease that is hard to treat. The story does not talk about any disease related to the title. This makes one wonder what the meaning of the title would be since it would not just be used without any reason. One has to compare the story to the disease in order to relate the title to the story. Considering the person has undergone 13 laser surgeries to have the tattoo removed, the title could mean the nature of difficulty in remove a tattoo once done, just as it is hard to cure hepatitis F. It could also mean the difficulty of diagnosing a problem as the proofreader was not able to, just like it is hard to detect hepatitis F. After reading the story, the title helps minimally in formulating a theme for the story. Had I written the story, I could have used the title, “Worst Misspelling.”

There is no passage with repetition of some key words to suggest the theme of the story. The title is not mentioned in the whole story, and no character’s name is mentioned except client. None of these is pointed towards the theme of the story, considering the story represented the duly sworn defendant to the case. However, an emphasis of proofreading failed which seems to be pointing towards the theme. The story emphasizes on the misspelling of the word “else” on the tattoo, to show it as the main idea or purpose of the story. The meaning of the story is embodied through out the story considering there is no passage that can be independent except the first talking about the ma suing the tattoo shop. They are all connected showing the events that led to the proofreader making a mistake. The theme of the story cannot be clearly stated. However, there is the theme of making a mistake that would be irreversible, one that would be costly. In this story, the theme reinforces some of my values about working too long without break. Had the man not been working through out the night, he could have been able to remember asking for the art of the tattoo before deciding it was as it appeared.

The title of the story relates to a virus causing hepatitis disease. On the other hand, the theme of the story is the irreversible mistakes that could be prevented, yet people end up committing these mistakes even with knowledge of avoiding them. Such mistakes could be a big disappointment to others, just as in this case. In this case, the “hepatitis F” title has been used to represent a deeper meaning, or a perspective of looking at the problem. Using the title, one could consider the problem as one of the simple to prevent, but cause huge damage if they happened. The client had to undergo 13 laser surgeries to remove the incorrectly misspelled tattoo. This was quite a disappointment to him. Therefore, to get the deeper meaning of the title and the theme one needed to relate the story to the title after reading. The intersection is realized through relating the story to the characteristics of the title. This gives a meaning to the story and the intention of using this title.
