The purpose of the assignment is not to critique the person or to challenge the topic, but rather to understand the person/topic. Emphasis should be place on on primary source materials. Secondary materials should be used sparingly and only to better elucidate primary sources. Clear structure is required. The paper should include an obvious thesis statement, followed by a logical argumentation and a concluding paragraph. All sources should be cited using footnotes. I am looking for a clear grasp of historical literature/theology.
