The paper must cover economic issues surrounding the following areas:
- Funding for K-12 public education. Kindergarten through 12th grade (Federal and State funding). Funding cuts, etc.
- How does this funding affect school dropout rates?
- Ultimately, how do high school dropout rates (the students) affect the economy? (Less income to contribute to the economy, crime increase and cost of imprisonment, no health insurance….these are just some of my ideas, but please feel free to be creative and throw in any ideas you find throughout your research)
There is some freedom with this paper, but the above topics should be connected and flow properly throughout the 3-page paper. It is okay to compare the past to the present, but the focus is definitely on the current U.S. economic situation.
This paper will be one section of a larger paper, so please make sure you have at least 3 full/complete pages of written material. 3 or more sources will be sufficient.
