Assignment Brief

Why are there so few … in …?

Write a report which:
• examines the under representation of a minority group in an industry of your choice;
• explains why the under representation is an issue for concern; and
• provides recommendations for how the situation could be changed.

Suggested Report Structure:

• Executive Summary
• Contents Page
• Introduction
• Main Body
• Conclusions
• Recommendations
• References
• Appendices (if required)

Word Length:

Your report should not exceed 2,500 words (excluding title page, contents pages, tables/graphs, references and appendices).

Presentation:
• Your assignment must be word-processed
• All text should be in a clear font (e.g. Arial) at 12pt size and double-spaced
• Your report should also have adequate margins (at least 2.5cm)
• Pages should be numbered
• You will be asked to complete a cover-sheet to your work when you submit it.

Deadline and Dual Submission:
The assignment deadline is 12pm Friday 11 March 2016

This assignment requires dual submission. You must hand in a hard copy to the Student Support Office (post into the black submission boxes outside the office). You must also submit a soft copy via Turnitin, which is a plagiarism and collusion detection system. If you do not submit to Turnitin your work will not be marked. Failure to submit two identical versions (one in hard copy, one via Turnitin) will attract a penalty of 10 marks.
To submit via Turnitin, you go to the assessment area for the module on VITAL and you will find a link for the coursework. Click on View/Complete and then on the “submit” icon for the paper. You are then prompted to submit a title for the paper. Use the “browse” button to locate the file you want to submit, then click “submit”. You will then be asked to confirm that you want to submit by clicking the “Yes, submit” button.”
