Also, I am not sure how to write a profile for magazine and newspaper. I feel like my essay was more related to biography. So please read these instructions and revise it accordingly.

– Using some or all of the profile elements: physical description, quotations from the subject, quotations about the subject, examples, anecdotes, factual information
– Researching using interviews and print and electronic sources
– Creating a balanced perspective by using multiple sources
– Revealing the subject’s relevance to a field of study, culture, politics, etc.

The Profile is a news feature writing assignment. Your task is to select a person who you think is currently doing something that would be of interest to readers of a newspaper or magazine. In other words, you should write about an individual who is somehow newsworthy. Your profile subject does not have to be famous. However, he or she should be interesting and fun to read about, someone about whom you yourself would enjoy reading. How you write your profile depends a lot on who the person is and what his or her story suggests. For example, some people have a very exciting background and have lots of good stories to tell, but may not be doing something professionally that you want to write about at length because it doesnt seem that interesting, even if its important. On the other hand, you might choose a subject who is doing something you know readers will find fascinating, but who doesnt have a particularly varied or colorful life. In the first instance, you would build your profile around the life, and dwell less, perhaps, on the subjects professional career. In the second instance, you might write more about the professional attainments of your subject. In both instances, though, you would have to cover the subjects personal life and professional life, since the persons professional activities at present are why the newspaper or magazine is publishing the profile. In your interview and research, make sure you manage to get a good store of anecdotal information.
