Inquiring into the social psychology of emotions

This is a short cycle aimed at clarifying your knowledge, drawing important distinctions and deciding what you need to learn or explore individually. It works by generating questions and answers (when possible) and ending up with even more questions.

One person in the group fills in this form and someone else enters the information types it up and uploads it to the ‘file exchange’ for the tutorial slot.

Emotions are feelings that are temporary

 

  • What are the key ideas related to the ‘essential’ questions (above) ? Refer to them by number.
  1. Emotional intelligence is trained. Biologically then trained
  2. Men and women have similar emotions but express it differently. They are made differently which sets them apart in different situations
  3. Yes. We can be culturally conditioned to experience and express emotions
  4. Is over emotional judged by society or an individual. People can be seen as over-emotional if they behave outside of social norms

All the concepts contained in the ‘essential’ questions must be quiried.

Planning questions: what do we need to do now to solve the essential questions? (10 minutes)

These questions will guide our individual work in the next week. Examples (x is a specific concept, not the topic as a whole):

‘How can we rely on the research and findings?’
