Bachelor Project: Analyzing the turbulence intensity of wind speed data sets The turbulence intensity for ten minutes data set of 1s wind data is defined as the ratio of the standard deviation σ divided by the mean wind speed v ̿of the sets: T = σv From literature, the expected main characteristics of T (magnitude, stability, dependence on measuring height) should be extracted. Measured wind speed sets (supplied by University of Bergen and taken from a data server of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory NREL/USA ) should be used to extract the turbulence intensity for a number of sets for different measurement heights and with different mean wind speed. These findings should be compared with the expectation from literature
