Analyze the effects of media coverage on media consumers.

Read the attached chapters from the book: Applying Communication Theory for Professional Life – 3rd Edition, then write a media analysis paper using the theoretical knowledge gained from the chapters and applying it to a real media case/event. You have to choose an event, a problem or an issue that is/was receiving major media coverage either locally or internationally. Then choose a communication theory that you believe it applies particularly well to the issue. You will use the theory to describe and explain why the issue is/was covered in a certain way and predict/analyze the effects of media coverage on media consumers. Finally, you will evaluate the theory in terms of how well it works, giving an assessment of its validity.

– Note: you will write the media analysis paper focusing on one of the communication theories discussed in the chapters. In some cases, more than one theory helps provide stronger analysis. In such cases, you can use a maximum of three theories only.

– In this paper, you are expected to describe the media event/case that you chose explaining its importance and how it relates to a specific communication theory. The analysis should also include details of the type/dynamics of media coverage the event received, media coverage effects on consumers, and any other related elements that are unique to the case. The paper should also discuss the contributions the theory added to our understanding of the selected case/event. You are encouraged to examine issues that have/had local, regional, and international media coverage.

– You are expected to use different resources to support your analysis paper.
