1a) What specific evidence can you deploy (use) and support on “Identity Politics” approach to the democratic process? In your opinion, what are the ramifications of such method of voting?

1b) In your opinion is Corporal punishment a viable (means if it will work?) alternative to replace the lengthy prison sentence?  Why or why not? Use example to support your position. You can use your personal experience, the double effect, a case study, hypothesis, or paraphrase from the book).

Question#2 you can choose to answer 2a or 2b (only choose one)

2a) Imagine you are writing an argument paper about the U.S. Immigration Reforms, and your audience severely want to limit Immigration. Which argumentative technique do you consider that it will be most effective between: The Rogerian or Classical? Explain why, and then write an opening paragraph (only one paragraph) *write introduction depending on which technique you chose that it will be more effective Rogerian or Classical*

Hint**the difference between Rogerian and classical technique is that the Classical is that you are always attacking the other side, you start straightforward and attack the other side or you want to trap them. But the Rogerian style is the opposite; you avoid words that attack your opponents directly. You start with establishing the consensus, which means you write something that is common understanding to both sides. That both sides agree. Once you build the bridge/connection, even though they may not agree with your position, but there will not be any disagreement because they already know that you fully understand their position.**

2b) Offer a reason interpretation (give support) of Robert’s poem “Mending Wall”. Be sure to explain the poetic devices he used as well as how the poet feels about the relationship between the characters.

*for example he uses symbolism of the wall representing relationships (explain how you know this?)

*he also uses Irony, how the wall instead of bringing people together is actually what it makes them apart.

*what kind of tone, the poet uses?
