The goal of this (individual) assignment is to help you understand how business ethics theories and models can be used to understand, address and solve ethical issues facing real companies.

1.ABSTRACT

-Write a brief summary of the paper, including purpose, methods of analysis and findings. You should only write this part after you’ve finished the paper.

2.COMPANY OVERVIEW

-Provide a short description of the company, including areas of operations, markets, profitability levels, etc

3.ETHICAL ISSUE

-Describe one key ethical issue that the company has faced in the past. Explain the circumstances surrounding it and clarify why you believe the issue has ethical (moral) implications.

4.STAKEHOLDERS

a.STAKEHOLDER MAP

-Draw a detailed stakeholder map that identifies the potential stakeholders associated with the ethical issue from above. Be as specific as possible and where applicable, break down stakeholder groups in sub-categories. For example, the “Community” Stakeholder should be further divided into the relevant community groups that are linked to the issue.

b.STAKEHOLDER DESCRIPTION

-Include a brief description of each stakeholder group and summarize its concerns and demands related to the ethical issue

c.STAKEHOLDER CATEGORIZATION

-Categorize all stakeholders using one of the three models below. For each model, provide a detailed explanation how you applied the model and why each stakeholder was assigned to that particular category

3.Diagnostic Typology of organizational stakeholders

5. COMPANY’S RESPONSE

a. SUMMARY

Explain in as much detail as possible the company’s response to the ethical issue. What key action did it take?

b . ANALYSIS

Use the Seven most common ethical philosophies to conclude whether the company’s response (action) was morally right or wrong. Your analysis and application of each theory should be as detailed and as specific as possible.

6.ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE

a.SUMMARY

-Provide your own recommendation of an alternative response that would have better addressed the ethical issue.

-Identify the potential consequences of your alternative for all key stakeholders involved.

b . ANALYSIS

-Use the Panago model to prove that your recommended alternative would be morally right. The analysis and application of each theory should be as detailed and as specific as possible.

7.RECOMMENDATIONS

-Explain how the company could use the concepts below to prevent similar unethical behaviours from happening in the future. What improvements (if any) need to be made and why?

-Codes of conduct and/or codes of ethics

-Ethics training

-Ethics audit

-Ethics reporting systems and whistleblowing

-Compliance based versus value based Ethics Program
