You have been tasked with setting up a Programme Office (PO) for IT Projects in a large retail company. The major role of the PO is to ensure that IT projects are selected, scoped and implemented in a way that ensures the company’s strategic goals are achieved.
Management of the retail company has decided to make the integration of key IT systems its top strategic priority. Over the past 10 years many systems have been developed to support various aspects of the business, but insufficient attention has been paid to integrating information generated by these systems. Your priority in setting up the PO is therefore to ensure that the design and development of new IT systems is coordinated to ensure system and information integration.
As part your task in establishing the PO you have decided to focus on improving requirements management, design and testing to ensure standardization and integration. You have decided to use CMMI as your process improvement model.
You have been asked to write a report explaining to the CEO and her executive team why you wish to use CMMI as a process improvement model. You need to explain how CMMI adoption will proceed. You should also reflect on the risks associated with CMMI adoption.

You are required to write a short report. (5 pages maximum). Carefully reference any documents and other resources YOU use in preparing, this report.
