Criminal logical Theorists

As you noted in your post the early criminological theorists focused primarily on biological and physiological traits of an individual. Little, if any consideration was given towards the role of society or psychological factors in an individual\’s decision to participate in deviant behavior. We did not see those schools of thought truly begin to emerge until sometime in the mid 20th century. Why do you believe early theorists focused solely upon biological and physiological traits of an individual when trying to explain tendencies towards deviance? Was it a lack of knowledge and understanding about society and/or psychology, or was it something else? Briefly explain your position as part of your response.
