The overall aim of this research is to critically evaluate the recruitment and selection practices and procedures employed by the Builsa community bank in the achievement if the organization’s aims and objectives.
To be able to achieve the aim of this research, it is necessary to identify specific objectives, which when critically analysed will provide an answer the overall aim.
Below are the specific objectives to the research.
1.3 RESEARCH OJECTIVES
OBJECTIVE ONE:
Critically analyse the current approach to recruitment and selection employed by the bank
In this objective, the researcher will critically examine the type of methods and techniques used by the bank to attract and retain its staff. In answering this objective, it will help in determining whether the current approach being used is appropriate and suitable in achieving the overall aims and objectives of the organization.
OBJECTIVE TWO:
evaluate the perceptions of the impact and effectiveness of the recruitment and selection methods used by the bank to enhance performance
To answer this objective, the researcher will be able to establish how effective, the bank’s recruitment and selection strategy is. This will be done by analyzing the perceptions of employees, jobseekers and the HR and line managers. This objective when answered will help in achieving the aim of the research, which is to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and selection in achieving organizational goals
OBJECTIVE THREE:
Investigate other techniques and forms of recruitment and selection approaches available to bank
Finally, by investigating other techniques/ methods of recruitment and selection available to the bank, it will help in improving the process to achieve both individual and organizational performance. This then will answer the question of how strategic recruitment and selection can enable the Builsa community bank (BUCOBANK) in the achievement if its organization’s aims and objectives.
1.4 RESEARCH STRUCTURE
This chapter will critically review all current literature about recruitment and selection. It will assess different forms of recruitment and selection with the introduction of online recruitment, thus partially answering the question to objective one.
This chapter of the research is very important as helps to guide and inform the research. It also helps to provide a context for the study and also give an insight of work previously done in the topic area.
1.4.2 Chapter Three: Methodology
The methodology chapter explains the various methods used for the collection of data, that is, why certain data was collected, the kind of data collected, where and when it was collected and how it was collected and analysed.(Collis and Hussey, 2003).
