Dear writer,
Here is the essay title:
To create a positive learning environment in any setting, it is important to have a strong set of community values. Please describe a set of community values or central tenets that you believe should guide participants in an online learning community. 300 words
Talking points:
I’m actually already involved and enjoying online courses.
In January I’ve enrolled in the following online courses: The discovery of the Higgs Boson, by the university of Edinburgh. And Big Data: measuring and predicting human behaviour, University of Warwick. Over the summer I’ll be taking The Holocaust: An Introduction, by Tel Aviv University, and Global food security: Addressing the Challenge, Lancaster University. This is all through FutureLearn.com – online course learning platform.
It’s been amazing experience. Teaching feels direct and personal. Assessment is based on quiz’s and tests. The discussions between students is engaging and it encourages you to discuss materials of the course as a community. The community builds this relationship of collective support. Participants have a profile page where you can learn about them, and ‘follow’ them. They come from all ages and backgrounds, making discussions feel truly international and fascinating, discussing matters with people with very different backgrounds. This was the most amazing experience. One debate the community got into was how technology today is affecting our sensical connection with the surrounding world. We ended up discussing sonic geography to be an extremely useful conceptual device in understanding the construction of local identity. We spoke about the case of the city of Liverpool and how its Scousers accent has shown identity to be inherently political; whereby the politics of place, race, and phonology contributes to the social construction of a distinctive local, vocally driven, identity. On the Data course, I’ve studied if data from usage of google and wikipedia help us anticipate stock market moves. I found this fascinating and so in touch with contemporary business. These genuine interests are what spark debate and discussion among the community that builds a relationship. Having students in the same ‘class’ from around the world with different perspectives is an invaluable experience that I cherish most and gives life to online experience.
I believe the online business course will be of extreme use to my ambitions. I recently founded FlatAdvisor.com – an online platform that facilitates the sharing of honest, reliable information and reviews of properties in Edinburgh. It provides accurate reviews posted by current tenants for prospective tenants, thus offering information and limiting uncertainty and risk from letting a property based on that one brief viewing we’ve all experienced. There’s nothing like it on the market and believe it will revolutionise.
– priorities outlined in the Harvard online course (business analysts, economics for managers, and financial accounting) are essential things i need to know to get started.
Writer: please write 300 words addressing the question based on the info above. I really appreciate this and hope I’ve provided enough for you to write a fluent eloquent essay. Thank you
