For this week’s assignment, you will be writing an essay addressing three important questions related to how scientific data is used to evaluate potential violations of environmental laws. First, discuss why initial responders to an alleged environmental crime scene should never attempt to enter an unsecured site that is emitting suspected or known hazardous substances; second, describe the steps an initial responder should take at the scene; and third, discuss why the scientific data is evidence critical to the government’s burden of proof in a criminal judicial environmental enforcement case.
Your weekly essays require that you use the text, assigned reading materials, and may require the use of internet sources and APUS Library databases.
