Assessment Summary:In the assignment you will be analyzing data from UK Government Health Open Data and extracting information using appropriate data analytics software tools introduced in class and presenting your results in a report suitable for a council executive committee.

Question and Requirement:
Data is a valuable commodity and many organizations are now unlocking the information to enable them to make more informed business decisions. Open source data is becoming more and more available and Government of the United Kingdom has a range of open data available for analysis. This assignment is based on extracting information from health data sets to support the development of a range of healthy food products.

You are expected to analyse and extract information from different data sets using an appropriate data analytics tool which has been taught in class SAS JMP or SAS Enterprise Guide or base SAS. IN this case use the results of your analysis of the data to show the need for a range of healthy food products..

Your report is expected to have the following sections. For each section some ideas of what you might include have been given below:

1. Introduction
Describe the importance of business intelligence and data analytics to public and private sector organization. Briefly, give an overview of the data which you analysed and why you think analysing this data is important to the various organisations. (100 words – one paragraph)
2. Methodology
Describe what sequence of activities (analysis and report generation) you are going to perform as part of your business intelligence strategy. You can present this as a list of bullet points or a flowchart, but remember to write a short overview of you methodology at the beginning of this section (400 words)
3. Describe data sets
In this section describe the data sets you have used. Do not forget to reference any data sets that you have downloaded from the Internet. (300 words)
4. Analysis Results
In this section you will present the results of your data set analysis. It is recommended that you analyse at least two data sets. More marks will be given where you have selected data sets which have a common relationship between them and where you have joined the data sets using your selected tool. Where you have written your own code in the data analytics tool, include the code that you have written in the appendices along with any appropriate screenshots. Do not forget to include any graphical outputs in your report. However, do remember to annotate where appropriate and describe the results in a business context within your report. (800 words)
5. Summary and Conclusion
Finish your report by summarising your results and making some final conclusion on the process. You might what to comment on how easy it was to obtain the data and whether the content was sufficient for analysis. (300 words)

The number of words for each section is to give you some idea of the length of each section and the structure of the report. The total number of words should be about 2000 words. However, it is not a prescriptive structure and students may decide to use their own report structure and such an approach would be acceptable because the format of the report must convey the information extracted from data sets at an appropriate level for the intended readers.

This assignment has been designed to be completed week by week and you will find that in-class exercises in lab sessions will reflect the type of analysis that will earn you good marks in this assignment.
