For your post on Walden, choose a single word from the required reading (pages 72-178) and describe the significance of that word in relation to the narrator’s mission, philosophy, the text, an individual section within the text, etc.
Why does he use this word? How does he use? Does he repeat it? Is it used in a new or different way? Consider alternative meanings/definitions of the word as well.
How is this word aligned with the meaning of the text? Or does the word contradict what the narrator is saying? How does he use it to convey meaning? Why is it meaningful?
You’ll clearly want to choose a word that seems significant. Then use that word as a way to probe the issues the author presents; how does the word symbolize his philosophy?
Be sure to write about a page worth of text (300-450ish words), edit before you submit, and include both textual evidence and your own analysis. There is no need to address everything I’ve listed here, but at least this gives you a starting point.
