Community Event and Sponsorship Assignment Guidelines This assignment can be completed by a group of 2 students or individually. Please notify the course instructor how you will complete it as least 2 weeks prior to the due date Part 1: The Event (25 pts) In this section you design a community event that includes a Road Race and/or Walk followed by a Street Event. This combination event should have the same Who, Why, When and Where. In the 1st part of this section define The Who, Why, When and Where of your event. This section should run 1 ~ 2 pages. Who would attend your event (3 pts) Discuss demographic profiles such as numbers, age, education, socio-economic status, cultural attributes, lifestyle choices, character, etc. of the potential attendees. Why you are holding the event (3 pts) Provide several goals for the event such as community engagement, charitable fundraising, product introduction, education, etc. (several means minimum of three). Most combination events would exceed the minimum number of Why When you will hold the event (2 pts) Present the time, date, season, weather and explain why you would hold the event then (i.e. Weddings are often held late spring and early summer because the weather is nice, there are lots of flowers and spring/early summer is new, birth or rebirth, the winter is through and all things are possible) Where the event will be held (3 pts) Present the location for the event and its attributes that would make this event successful there (i.e. parking, space, cover, natural views, access, infrastructure, facilities, support services, handicapped access, etc.) In the 2nd part of this section define the What for your Road Race element and then the What for your Street Event.
