Your papers must:
•Identify, define and apply at least two Sociological concepts from the text book chapter
•List at least 2 “authoritative” references, one of which can be your primary text book
•Demonstrate “college-level” writing techniques
•Be two pages in length with 1″ margins and standard 12-point font
Notes: Some SOCI concepts are in bold in the text and you should also consult the Key Terms at the Chapter’s end. You will start to recognize the difference between a key term and a Sociological concept. Your research using authoritative sources should assist you in this regard. For example, medicalization is a Sociological concept. Stigma is also a SOCI concept. However, managed care is not a SOCI concept; it is a key term related to health care.
You are reminded to consult the grading rubric, especially with regard to the requirement to apply two Sociological concepts as well as to use two authoritative sources. If you use a major SOCI theory, that counts for the “concept” requirement. Online sources of information, while not required, may be useful for this assignment.
