You’re going to approach the three novels, A Northern Light, Lyddie, and Brides of Eden from a holistic standpoint. That is, were going to think about them together and how they speak to each other and the tensions they create. You can also think about the way in which Brides of Eden fits in with Evolution, Pure, and Skellig since all four novels have something to say about religion. Additionally, Brides of Eden is based on a true story (a very interesting one at that); its a fictionalized version of a true event, and Bomb is non-fiction. The genres share some commonalities, but they also have their own tensions. You have, then, a very interesting web of ideologies and texts to sort through.
I want you to bring in scholarship from academic journals to this discussion. You can pick what scholarship. You can use google books, ebooks, print books, and journal articles. Do include citations for the texts so that we can find them.
