I am from Cameroon, and came to U.S. after graduating from high school in Cameroon. I am a first generation college student. I am fourth born out of five children. I was raise by a single mother. My elder sister and brothers were not able to go to college because college was too expensive for my mother to pay. My brother had to stop their education at the level of high school because they had to work and support the family. In Cameroon, high school education is pretty expensive for majority of the family. I had to work in my mother restaurant at age ten because my mother could not afford to pay people to assist her. I had to work in the restaurant after school and schools breaks. I had to study hard because I knew that I will go to medical school either in Cameroon or another country. I did not lead our financial problem be the obstacle of achieving my dream.

I came to U.S. in Fall 2007 after completed high school. I had to work for one year before starting college. I work as Home Health Aid. I take care of sick patients at their homes as HHA and I love the job. I raise some money and went to University of district of Columbia Community College for licensed practical nurse (LPN) on March 2009. I continue to take care patients at their homes and nursing house. I continue my journey to my medical by attending community college for two years because community was cheaper. I transfer to Indiana State University and major in biology and nursing. I have to use student loan to pay part of my undergraduate study. I also minor in chemistry. My nursing major has expose to me different specialties in medicine as I do my clinical rotation in the hospital. My desire to become a physician as increase as going to work in the health care.
