Aim of assignment
The aim of the assignment is to test your knowledge and understanding of key theories/concepts and your ability to evaluate and apply these theories/concepts to a practical context (in line with the module outcomes provided in FC042 Student Module Guide available on the Kaplan VLE).
Assignment outline
You are required to write an essay addressing the following question:
Many scholars argue that Taylor’s Scientific Management Theory is dated and lacks relevance to modern organisations; others argue that Taylorism still exerts influence.
Explain scientific management and evaluate its relevance to modern organisations. Identify and discuss a case example to illustrate your arguments.
Word count
The word length for this assignments is 1500 +/- 20%. Please indicate the word length on your submitted assignment. The reference list is not included in the word count.
Weighting
This assignment is worth 60% of your overall mark for this module.
